Practice, knowledge and integration – Sports Manager specialization workshops in Maróz
On June 12-15, first-year students of the Master's degree program in Sports Management participated in field didactic workshops organized by the Academy of Sport Education in Sports. The meeting took place at the Syrenka center in Maróz - surrounded by a lake, forests and sports and recreational infrastructure. The aim of the workshop was not only to provide practical knowledge and develop professional competences, but also to integrate the student community and exchange experiences in a relaxed atmosphere. The program of classes was prepared with the challenges facing future leaders of the sports sector in mind.
Sports Management – From Theory to Action
The workshop classes focused on issues related to sports management, and their formula combined work on specific tasks with the analysis of real cases. Students had the opportunity to face examples that reflect the everyday reality of a sports manager's work: they prepared event concepts, analyzed communication models and drew conclusions from case studies. Much emphasis was placed on the practical side of the issues - participants not only listened, but above all created, planned and presented their solutions. The classes were led by lecturers-practitioners: Mateusz Brzeźniak, MA, who introduced the topic of event marketing, and Paweł Wojtaś, MA, who focused on sports marketing in social media and broadly understood sports project management. Their professional experience and commitment to teaching translated into the high substantive value of the workshops and an inspiring working atmosphere.
Academic support and mentoring from academic staff
The field workshops would not have taken place without the support of the university's academic staff. In Maróz, the students were also accompanied by representatives of the Academy of Sport Education authorities: Prof. Maciej Słowak, Prof. Marek Rybiński and Dr. Jarosław Płusa. The presence of the academic staff created a unique space for direct conversations and mentoring. This type of academic relationship is invaluable in the education process - it builds trust, motivates and shows that the university is not only a place to acquire knowledge, but also a community in which personal and professional development is supported on many levels.
Integration and activity – also outside the lecture hall
In addition to intensive substantive classes, the trip was an excellent opportunity for students to integrate and relax in the natural surroundings. Beautiful, sunny weather was conducive to outdoor activities. Participants were eager to take advantage of the available attractions: resting on the beach at Lake Maróz, games on the volleyball and basketball courts, joint walks and an evening integration bonfire. This type of trip creates space for building interpersonal relationships, strengthens cooperation in the group and shows how important the ability to function in a team is in the work of a sports manager.
