On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the 9th edition of the scientific conference (doctoral and student) entitled "Physical Culture - Contemporary Dilemmas and Challenges" took place, organized by the Student Science Club "Education in Sport" operating at the Academy of Sport Education in cooperation with the Scientific Society "Safety and Rescue". The event, under the patronage of the Rector of prof. Academy of Sport Education, dr. Jacek Dembiński, took place remotely using the MS Teams platform. The conference was interdisciplinary, international and interuniversity - which enabled a broad exchange of knowledge and experiences between participants from various academic environments. The scientific supervisor of the event was dr hab. Jerzy Telak, prof. Academy of Sport Education.
International dimension and scientific cooperation beyond borders
This year's edition of the conference was attended by representatives of six universities from Poland and Ukraine:
Such a wide range of scientific cooperation proves that the topics of physical culture, safety and health are not only relevant, but also require a common research approach, regardless of national borders. A total of 16 papers were presented, covering a wide range of problems, from issues related to the management of physical activity, through the analysis of safety in the social and digital space, to technological innovations in health sciences. The remote formula of the event did not limit the dynamics of the meeting - on the contrary, it enabled participation from people from different parts of the country and abroad, maintaining the continuity of the international scientific dialogue.
Interdisciplinary formula and variety of topics
The conference topics indicated a wide spectrum of contemporary research challenges, covering both the fields of medical and health sciences, as well as social sciences, including pedagogy, management, security, social communication and psychology. The interdisciplinarity of the presentations was particularly appreciated, combining theoretical knowledge with practical case analysis, presenting modern approaches to managing physical activity in various environments - from traditional land spaces, through water and air, to cyberspace. The role of new technologies, health monitoring methods, the need for changes in physical education systems and the possibilities of using research results in the real world were also discussed. Such a broad approach to issues gave participants a unique opportunity to look at their own research from a new perspective and confront it with the experiences of others.
The substantive level and involvement of the participants
As emphasized by the members of the Scientific Committee, the substantive level of the papers was very high – both in terms of the quality of preparation and the innovativeness of the topics discussed. The participants presented not only the results of their research, but also specific application conclusions that can have a real impact on the development of science and practice. The Scientific Committee particularly appreciated the commitment of young scientists, their research independence and high level of presentation skills. For doctoral students and students, it was not only an opportunity to present themselves to a wider academic group, but also to gain valuable experience in public speaking, defending their own theses and being open to critical discussion.

Summary and invitation to the anniversary edition
The conference was closed by the chairwoman of the Scientific Committee, dr hab. Oksana Telak, prof. Academy of Sport Education, who in her summary emphasized that all the objectives of the event had been achieved. Experiences were exchanged, research results were presented, research methods and techniques were analyzed, and key interdisciplinary problems were indicated and their potential solutions were proposed. Special thanks were given to dr Jarosław Płusa and Daniel Semczyk for their help in running the event, as well as to the entire team of the Student Science Club "Education in Sport", whose work was led by M.Sc. Eng Adrian Osiński. The contribution of the organizers and their commitment to preparing an event of such a wide scope and great scientific value was highly appreciated. At the end, wishes were expressed for further scientific development, determination in implementing further research and a reunion within next year's jubilee - tenth - edition of the conference.
